THE REDESIGNED 2019 INSIGHT
At long last, innovation has returned. Joining the ranks of Honda’s growing family of hybrids is the all new and improved 2019 Honda Insight. Boasting revolutionary changes from the 2nd-generation models on the market from 2009-2014, the 2019 Insight has truly learned from any past problems. The all-new 2019 Insight returns as a hybrid in every sense of the word.
Toeing the line between Fastback and Hatchback, the 2019 Insight boasts a sleek and elegant design, highlighted by Honda’s signature “flying wing” grille, and low-profile LED Headlights. The new Honda Insight is a four-door compact sedan that provides the most cabin space in its class. The batteries are housed under the rear seat, leaving more usable space available in the cabin, and allowing the Insight to seat up to five-passengers. Equipped with the latest in automobile technology, the 2019 Honda Insight offers up improved comfort, safety, mobility and efficiency.
FUEL
While the 2019 Insight has not yet been rated by the EPA for fuel economy, Honda predicts upwards of 50 mpg in combined driving.
POWERPLANT
That outstanding fuel efficiency is owed to Honda’s innovative two-motor hybrid technology. First seen in the 2018 Clarity Plug-In Hybrid, Honda has implemented it in the 2019 Insight to provide an overall smoother driver experience.
With a 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle Engine combined with an electric motor and a Lithium-Ion battery, the driver is able to switch between either electric or fuel for driving at greater speeds. And, unlike a Plug-In Hybrid, the new Insight relies on electricity for most trips, while the gasoline-powered engine is available to be utilized as a generator.
STANDARD ON ALL INSIGHTS!
Honda has a history of an outstanding safety record. To bring that into the 21st century, all 2019 Insight is equipped with the latest safety innovation, Honda Sensing Technology. This is a car designed from the ground up to assist and increase driver awareness.
Other safety features include:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)
- Helps brake the vehicle when it senses an otherwise unavoidable collision with a vehicle detected in front of you.
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
- A small camera that can see road markers, alerts the driver if the vehicle is going to leave the road, and takes action to keep you from doing so.
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow helps you maintain a set following interval on the highway, so you don’t have to manually change your speed.
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- If your vehicle begins to stray from the center of a detected lane without signaling, the steering adjusts to help bring you back to the lane center.
- Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
- A small camera recognizes and notifies the driver of speed limit signs with a visual icon.
Available Infotainment Features
- Apple Car Play and Android Auto
- While your iPhone or Android phone is connected to the system,
you can use the touchscreen to make a phone call, listen to music, and more
- Bluetooth Phone
- Make and receive phone calls using the vehicle’s audio system,
without handling your phone.
- Streaming audio
- Using Bluetooth, play streaming or stored audio from your compatible
phone through the vehicle’s audio system.
- Mobile Hot-Spot
- You can connect the audio system to the internet using Wi-Fi. If
your compatible phone has hotspot capabilities, the system can be tethered to the
phone.
