Theft prevention features of the car require that the key fob, remote receiver, be "registered" to the car so that anyone with a key fob can't start your car. This process is similar to that of your garage door opener...only it requires dealer equipment. Registration is not sending in a postcard to Honda to register you as a customer. The DMV already does that.

Only used it a few times but works like a charm. Easy to operate and understand. I understand the anti-theft feature where it shuts the engine off when the door is unlocked. That is a feature more for a push button start. My 2013 Pilot is a key start. It would be nice if I could insert the key without having the engine kill. The anti-theft would kill the engine if the brake pedal were depressed or if the gear shift were moved would make more sense.
