2014 Honda Odyssey Minivan

The Newly Redesigned 2014 Honda Odyssey At the New York International Auto Show on March 27th, 2013 Honda showed off the new design for the 2014 Honda Odyssey. The newly redesigned 2014 Odyssey has small and large updates that range from new body styling, technology, and even a vacuum. The 2013 Odyssey was ranked #1 in minivans by US News and rankings and also received a “2013 Top Safety Pick” by the IIHS. Although unconfirmed by Honda, the new 2014 Odyssey is expected to arrive during the late summer of 2013.

The Odyssey is also getting a major technology facelift, new safety and entertainment features are coming to the 2014 Odyssey. Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) will be available in the new 2014 Odyssey as well. Although the details of the FCW and LDW in the Odyssey are not clear yet, in other Honda Models a small camera or radar system are mounted on the front of the vehicle. When a vehicle in front of you gets too close it alerts the driver through visual and audio signals. The LDW utilizes a camera to detect lane markings on the road surface and alert the driver when the vehicle leaves it’s lane without using a signal.

Updated entertainment features will add new conveniences to the 2014 Odyssey. A 7’’ audio-touch screen to control your music and stereo. HondaLink will also be available; HondaLink is Honda’s cloud based software service that integrates third party applications into your vehicle to keep you connected. With HondaLink you can connect your smartphone to your vehicle via a BlueTooth link and read text messages on screen and navigate them with steering wheel controls. A new remote entry system has also been introduced that will allow drivers to use Push Button Start which will alleviates the need to insert you key into the ignition. Just press a button and go. Honda didn’t forget about the exterior of the new 2014 Honda Odyssey either, with new styling the Odyssey has a sleeker, more refined appearance. The front of the vehicle received quite a bit of attention and will be sporting a new grille, hood, and headlights. The new hood appears to give the 2014 Odyssey more definition than its predecessor. The new headlights have a crisp clean look and Honda has removed one of the horizontal bars from the grille which gives the Odyssey a much cleaner sophisticated look. The rear headlights have also been updated with an LED bar that spans across the rear of the vehicle.

The 2013 Odyssey will be a welcome refresh to the already highly regarded Odyssey with its new safety, technology, and convenience features the vehicle will surely turn heads. Honda has not yet released an official date for the release of the 2014 Odyssey but it is expected to be available late summer 2013.
